The Force Comes to Town

My son is border-line obsessed with Star Wars. He has the action figures, he has the weapons, he watches the movies, he surfs Wookieepedia on the computer, and he plays the video games on his PS2 and PSP. He is a walking Star Wars encyclopedia. It is usually the first thing he wants to talk about in the morning and the last thing he talks about before bed.

Earlier this month, my husband and I were in Wal-Mart looking at their assortment of Star Wars toys (we've decided to try and get our Christmas shopping
done early this year for a change). While we were there, we met a woman who told us that her husband was a member of the 501st Legion, a.k.a Vader's Fist. She told us that some of the members would be making an appearance at Pumpkin Fest this year. Needles to say, we have been counting down the days ever since.

After weeks of waiting, the day finally arrived. We decided to head down early this morning and have breakfast at our favorite spot, The Mercantile. After our bellies were full, we began our hunt for Vader's army.

At first, we were worried that they weren't going to make it. When all hope was almost lost, we found them, in the town square. My son was able to meet the Storm Troopers, Shock Troopers, Jango Fett, Queen Amidala, R2-D2, Jawas... It was awesome!

Today is one that will definitely go down in the record books. The Force was definitely with us.

How fun. My kids love Star Wars too. We will have to watch for the 501st.

Wow. So God DOES show up in Wal-mart. He's so fearless like that ...
