Mmmmm.... Beer!
At the risk of sounding like a lush, I had to share some wonderful news. After almost 14 years of waiting, I can now buy my favorite beer here in the state of Tennessee. Oh, how glorious it is!
Who makes the beer that I am so excited about? None other than the New Belgium Brewing Company, located just minutes from where I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. Until recently, their brews could only be purchased in cities west of the Mississippi River, with the exception of Chicago. From what I understand, New Belgium struck a deal with a distributor here in the East making the beer available in my neck of the woods.
My original love for New Belgium's Brews began with Fat Tire Amber Ale, one of the two basement-brews from the early days of the company. It has a light balanced flavor that I love. Recently, I have fallen in love with 1554 Enlightened Black Ale. It's flavor is dark, chocolaty and bold.
Sometimes nothing tastes better than a cold beer on a hot Summer day. With the temperatures in the 90's and the humidity through the roof, I might just go pour a cold one now. The truth be told, I am lucky if I can drink an entire bottle of beer over the course of an evening. I think I will go see if the hubby wants to split a bottle with this lightweight.

*** The opinions expressed are my own. The fine folks at New Belgium have no clue I exist. I purchased the beer with my hubby's hard-earned cash and have not been compensated in any way for my review.
