My son has been working on a loose tooth for almost two months. It was his first one and needless to say, he has been a little nervous about the whole thing. Will it hurt? Will there be blood? These are the questions that we have heard day in and day out.
For the past few days, his tooth has been leaning half-way out of his mouth. It has made it hard for him to eat and is a constant nuisance. His tooth has been loose for so long that the permanent tooth had already made it's debut directly behind the baby tooth.
This afternoon, it became apparent that the tooth needed to come out. We decided that my husband would have the honor of yanking the snaggle-tooth out. The boy agreed.
What you may not know is that my hubby is a big guy. He has big hands... and thus, big fingers. When he grabbed our son's tiny little baby tooth to give it a yank, he accidentally grabbed the healthy, firmly rooted one next to it too.
Yes. That's right. He pulled out two teeth with one pull. Insane!
After a few tears and a decent amount of blood, my son yelled, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" He couldn't be happier and can't wait to show all his friends at school tomorrow. I'm just happy he wasn't traumatized by the experience.
