As Read Today, vol. 1

As I went through my son's school folder this afternoon, I came across a Mother's Day assignment that made me laugh. I decided to do a spin on my standard "As Heard Today" post. His work is simply too funny to keep all to myself.

On a sheet of paper, my son had to write down five adjectives describing me, his wonderful Mom. His five words were: nice, short, fun, funny and happy. On the back side of the paper he had to use the five adjectives to write five sentences. His assignment read as follows:

I love my Mom because she is very nice. Even though she is short I still like her. My Mom is very fun because she will play Star Wars toys with me. I also love my Mom because she looks funny when she makes angry faces. My Mom is very happy too. I love my Mom.
It is nice to know that I am still liked despite the fact that I am vertically challenged. I am also happy to hear that he takes my stern correction so seriously. Clearly, I need to practice my non-funny angry face. I must not be as good at scowling as I thought.

After a good laugh, I thanked my son for writing such kind words about me. His response was, "Mom, you kick butt!" That's right... I kick butt. I'm that amazing.

Happy Mother's Day to me!
