The boy sent away for our creepy crawlies the very next day. Because of the cold temperatures across the country, our shipment took a little longer than normal.
At long last the ants arrived and were introduced to their new home last night. After being fairly sedentary for the first few hours, the ants have finally begun digging a tunnel in one of the corners.

At the boy's suggestion, I took a few pictures of his ant farm to post on my blog. He would like to post additional pictures at least once a week so you can keep up with the ant's progress. I'm sure that you can't wait.
Until next time...

It's neat that you get the green goo! My brother had one (years and years ago)when I was in grade school...his ants were red ants, and they did escape! Before we took care of all the escapees, we ended up with some ant bites...not fun!! Looking forward to seeing more pictures on them. I thought about getting one for my son, and then remembered my brother's story...I guess we'll live vicariously through you guys, lol!
Oh hooray! I'm glad the ants have finally arrived and that the farm is a hit. I never know if I've picked the right gift :) Score one for grandma this year! It will be fun to watch the progress of the little guys.
Just now I'm imagining the guy in charge of shipping at the ant warehouse. And at cocktail parties, does he just tell people that he's an accountant.
Okay, so the ants have made the blog. When does your Book Club make an appearance?... I feel neglected. (sniff)
great project!
wonder if he'll want to name each ant...lol
I would like you to set up a webcam so that I can follow the ants in real time. This would be a great way to prevent me having to buy an ant farm. Thanks.
