Too Cold for School
My son will be staying home from school tomorrow. The reason? Apparently it is too cold for the schools here in Middle Tennessee to remain open. I am honestly at a loss for words.
I understand that it has been cold outside. Unusually cold. But isn't the rest of the country in a deep freeze too? I feel fairly certain that the majority of the school districts nationwide are still holding classes despite the chill.
Although I am a bit baffled, the boy will be thrilled. He went to bed anticipating another day at school. Little does he know that an unexpected four-day weekend begins tomorrow.

I am sooo baffled by it all too!!No snow on the ground, just cold, and no school? This was suppose to be my day off with NO kids at home!! So, far, at least 3 of them (Brittany is still asleep, so, that leaves her out of it) are fighting amongst themselves and driving me nuts. Luckily, I'm about to head out in the COLD and get errands done. Lucky me. In my 15 years of living here, this has never happened!! Weird!!
We rarely even have snow days in Colorado. I can't even imagine why schools would need to be closed unless it was subzero - like 45 below. Maybe natives of the south are less hardy than their northern and western neighbors.:) I don't get it. Wish my work would close when it's cold so I don't have to dress like I'm in the arctic.
what a crazy public school system.
this is oh, so funny.
remember when you first arrived in TN and it snowed a toltal of 1" or so and people paniced...shelves at stores depleted of milk, bread and eggs.
enjoy the day
