The hubby came down with a wicked case of the stomach flu. The poor man has been quarantined in the bedroom for the entire day. I think he has been a bit lonely.
While the yucky stomach portion of the bug seems to have finally disappeared, the ever-pleasant flu symptoms are going strong. He has been fluctuating between shivering and sweating for most of the day. If I had a dollar for every time he has moaned in agony, I would be a rich woman. The man is miserable.
Consequently, I have been pretty miserable myself. The hubby is very pitiful when he doesn't feel well. But honestly, isn't that the way all men are? Thankfully, it is a rarity for him, or anyone at the Ha house, to be under the weather.
To make matters worse, I have had to forbid the boy to have any personal contact with his Dad. With his surgery coming up on Monday, I can't risk him (or me) getting sick. I don't think I could bear having to reschedule.
Under normal circumstances, I am pretty laid back about the whole germ/illness thing. Today I have been a little uptight, to say the least. I am guzzling oj, taking vitamins by the handful, diffusing antibacterial/antimicrobial essential oils into the air, sanitizing every surface in the house and washing my hands constantly. I have been a woman on a mission.
It is now almost 11:00. The hubby is finally drifting off into a somewhat peaceful sleep. Hopefully he will feel like more like himself in the morning.
The hubby's temperature is hovering a little too close to the danger zone of 103. I will most likely wake him a few times during the night so that I can check his temperature and make sure he is drinking enough liquids.
It looks like there will be no sleep for this weary girl.

Glad he has you to care for him. Hope your house is germ free today!
Oh, good luck with that!!!
Something that Worked For Me...I kept a sippy cup (one of the tall, playtex ones) on hubby's bedstand last time he had a Man Flu. Since he was simply Too Weak to sit up and drink from a normal cup, it was an easy way for me to make sure he was getting his fluids. (Got to love the Man Flu. ;-))
UGH!
I know when the flu hits, it hits hard.
Hope flu patient recovers asap, surgery patient heals quickly, and caregiver survives.
Bless you all...
