As Heard Today, vol. 3

The boy has informed me that I look like I am ten. Well, "a tallish ten-year-old girl" to be exact. I am convinced that his estimation is a refection of my height, and has absolutely nothing to do with my appearance.

I am certain that if the boy placed me in a line-up with other tallish ten-year-old girls, there would be no doubt which one of us had already completed the fourth grade. All it would take is one look at my newly formed crow's feet and laugh lines or the wiry gray hairs that have started randomly sprouting from my head.

When I was volunteering up at the school on Friday, I couldn't help noticing that the the boy was probably correct. I am approximately the same size as an average fourth or fifth grader, give or take few (wink, wink) pounds.

By the time he hits Middle School, I will be craning my neck back to look up at the boy and his friends. I don't think it will bother me one bit... unless I am mistakenly herded into one of his classes. One journey through adolescence was enough for me.

You'll always be just the right age for the boy and his dad.
Stay young at heart.
Keep an open mind.
Never, never, never, tell your age.
Keep 'em all guessing!

And I guess Sophie would be a "short 10 year old", LOL. I don't think she is close to you in height at all...and she is 10 now. It's great that he tells you that you are young...I'd dread hearing what mine have to say...hee hee!

Just wait until you get to be my age - ancient - and start shrinking. I'm nearly an inch shorter than I was at your age :) Yike! Soon I'll be the height of a tallish 5 year old. I can't wait.
