I thought I would post a few more pictures from our recent trip to Colorado. This visit was unusually short, forcing us to cram an abundance of activity into a few days. Despite the time constrains, we had a delightful time with our family and friends.
After our arrival at my sister's place in Coal Creek Canyon, the boy and his newly four-year-old cousin decided to go for a dip in the hot tub. It has been fun to watch their friendship grow as the years have gone by. I hope that they will always be close.

The birthday girl requested some "beautiful pink flowers" for her birthday. Grandma showed up for the party carrying a bouquet of peonies.

We were able to spend a wonderful afternoon with our dear friends, K and T. The hubby and K have been best friends since they were boys; I have known T since I was ten. The boy always looks forward to seeing their three children.

Our friends recently purchased three horses, Charlie, Phillip and Pumpkin. A highlight for the boy was being able to feed a horse for the first time. The hubby, who is a city boy at heart, preferred to observe from a distance.

Our time in Colorado is usually punctuated by several hikes up in the high country. I like how the boy blends in with the mountainside with the exception of his bright red hair. Even though I grew up in Colorado, I am always amazed by the intensely blue color of the sky.

We came home exhausted from all our adventures, but so glad that we decided to make the trip. The boy is already making plans for "next time we go to Colorado. I can't wait.
