Too Many Questions

The hubby and I have noticed that our boy has been talking incessantly the past few days. The child hardly pauses long enough to take a breath. It's amazing he hasn't passed out from a lack of oxygen.

Along with his constant chattering have come what feels like an endless string of questions. It reminds me of when the boy was two.
He spoke in complete sentences by the time he was 18 months old and has never been silent since.
What I wouldn't have given back then for a few moments of silence...

Last night was no exception. The hubby was out with a friend doing man things, so the boy and I decided to have a date night of our own. We ate dinner at one of the boy's favorite local spots and then headed to Downtown Franklin for some ice cream and relaxing stroll.

As we walked hand-in-hand, the boy kept me entertained with his endless banter and string of crazy questions. Some of my favorites...
What would happen if you hit a mosquito with a Nerf gun?

How do humans know that soap actually works? I could be walking around covered in germs and not know it.

What do people do in Oklahoma?

Do you want to hear a list of everything that I've eaten today?

Which was made first, Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb?

What would happen if a tick bit me on my you-know-what? Would I have to go to the doctor?

What if I could shoot missiles out of my fingertips?
Why is my head so big?

Will you be sad when I move away and go to college?
I am truly grateful that the boy enjoys talking with hubby and me. Not all parents are so lucky. I plan to take full advantage of his chattiness while it lasts. All too soon he will be going off to college, leaving me with a house that is entirely too quiet.

Sigh.

All I can say is the apple did not fall far from the tree :) I'll personally never get over the deafening silence that invaded my home after you and your sister moved out. Sigh!

I know what you mean! But, right now I'm wondering how I'm going to get over the fact I'll have a quiet house when the kids are back in school--I'm going to miss the noise... Oh wait, I have Chloe and Penelope...I guess I don't get a quiet house, LOl!

You should of heard the noise in my house yesterday....there wasn't much silence in the house...
