Will I Ever Get My Groove Back?

As I mentioned previously, I am having a hard time getting back into my groove. I have always been able to manage all of my day-to-day tasks, volunteer at the boy's school and other organizations, spend countless hours just hanging out with my guys, and still have ample time to devote to various hobbies or spend with friends.

Time management and organization were my middle names.

I had high hopes of reinstating my routine when I dropped the boy at school last Monday morning. Feeling a surge of energy, I was able to pack up all of the Christmas decorations and return them to the attic in record time. I then spent the next two days putting everything else back in order in an effort to start the year off right.

A phone call at 4:30 on Wednesday afternoon killed any momentum I had. The county had decided to cancel school due to possible snow. This former Colorado girl was thrilled.

Sadly, any dreams of walking in a Tennessee winter wonderland were crushed. Despite the fact that it snowed big fluffy flakes for three entire days, our total accumulation wound up being only around a quarter of an inch. A three-day school week followed by a four-day weekend was not enough squash the boy's disappointment.

When my alarm rang Monday morning, I found it even more difficult to get out of bed than I had the previous week. All of this starting and stopping has thrown me for a loop. I am about to suggest that we jump ahead to summer vacation and try the whole school thing again come August.

My lack of motivation is not born out of an absence of things to do. My list of things to accomplish is quite lengthy. At the top are things like repainting the den, reorganizing and purging things from the boy's closet, moving a few shrubs while they are dormant this winter, and going through all of our important paperwork to see what needs to be filed or what can be discarded.

Exciting stuff, eh?

With any luck, and a great deal of coffee, I am hoping to muster the energy to knock out my list. I'll be sure to let you know how it's going.

Wow, if it snowed for 3 solid days here, you'd be buried. Literally. But you know that...

I hope you get back into the routine. It's an elusive thing sometimes, especially when the days are short and chilly. Motivation plays hide and seek.

I'm having the same problem...but, I think mine might be from the fact I had a purpose (to get going in the morning to get Chloe and Penelope) and now I don't. I do, too, have a list of stuff I have to do...I'm just NOT motivated at all to do anything...ugh...and I hate that feeling! Let's go to breakfast/lunch and get each other motivated! :)

By the way...I'd love to jump to summer vacation and forget about this school year! I'm ready for warmth!!!!
