It has been raining all day long here at the Ha house. And I do mean ALL day. The heavy rain began before dawn and shows no signs of stopping. The weather has been relentless.

According to my local weather station, over eleven inches of rain have fallen here in my neck of the woods. Forecasts are calling for the precipitation to continue into the night with more of the same expected tomorrow.

Portions of all three major interstates (I-40, I-24 and I-65) have been completely submerged under water. Literally dozens of streets in my town are impassible. Parking lots have been turned into lakes. Businesses have been forced to shut down.

I am sad to report the storm has even claimed one life... a man who was swept away in a torrent of water as he clung to a telephone pole. It is just heartbreaking.

Many homes in my neighborhood have been flooded as the normally tiny creek has become a raging river. One of these homes belongs to one of my friends. The water in her basement was over my knees and climbing.

I don't know that I have ever been so thankful that my house is situated on top of a hill.

The next few days promise to be interesting. Many of the rivers are not expected to reach flood stage until sometime on Sunday or Monday. I have a feeling we are going to be cleaning up this mess for quite some time.

I'm glad that it seems like the flash flooding has finally stopped at our house!
Two days of flash floods is more than enough!
Thankfully, even though the water surrounded our house(all the way to the brick) and got under our house, it only went into our garage...so, our house is safe!!
I'm ready for sun!
