The Perfect Plan

The hubby and I have been getting a good laugh out of some of the plans my boy and his buddies are making for Halloween.  It is really amazing to hear the hair-brained ideas that surface when a group of nine and ten-year-old boys put their heads together. 

The latest involves four boys, dressed like army men, driving a golf cart down the winding country roads near our home .  Obviously, this will occur after dark for optimum camouflage.  When they reach a populated area, the boys will dive into the bushes and fire upon all unsuspecting candy seekers with a barrage of Airsoft pellets.

Doesn't that sound like fun?

I told the boy that in addition to the fact that driving a golf cart on main roads was illegal, I had a few minor concerns about his plans.  I believe I might have mentioned things like their untimely death and the possibility of the police being called.  The boy listened quietly and then replied, "You bring up some good points, Mom.  I'll talk to the guys."
 
After the boy was in bed, the hubby commented how there have been many times over the years that our boy has seemed so grownup... so very wise beyond his years.  Then the kid comes up with a brilliant plan like this and he suddenly seems like your average dopey nine-year-old. 

I have a feeling this child is going to keep us on our toes. 

I'm sure that there will be a great deal of discussion on the playground today.  With any luck, the boys will be able to come up with a new plan that won't get anyone killed.  I can't wait to hear what they come up with next.

I guess this proves that the old adage isn't true... Four heads really aren't better than one.
