Tricia and Nathan Lawrenson (see previous post) had their precious baby girl on Tuesday. Gwyneth Rose was born at only 24 weeks, 5 days gestation. She is truly a miracle!
I am happy to report that both baby and Mama are hanging in there. They have an incredibly long road ahead, but are both stable for now. The doctors are slowly trying to wean Tricia off the sedatives they gave her before the surgery. If that goes well, they will begin to try to wean her off the ventilator as well.
I found this picture on Nathan's blog. The doctors had just given him the good news that Gwyneth was free from infection and that he could touch her skin to skin for the very first time. Can you believe how tiny Gwyneth's hand is... the size of her Daddy's finger. Amazing. I honestly don't know how anyone can look at this picture and not believe that there is a God.
