I noticed the other day that the boy was having trouble getting his shoes on. When I checked, I realized that his poor little toes were jammed up in the tip of the shoe. I couldn't believe it. We had bought new shoes less than 4 months ago. I told him to put on some other shoes and that we would take care of it this weekend.
Well, today was our big shoe shopping day. My son, my hubby and I all set off on our quest for the perfect pair of shoes. One thing you need to know about my boys is that they are both, to put it nicely, lacking in the patience department. They know what they like and when things don't go according to plan they tend to get overly frustrated. I've been told many times that I'm a saint for putting up with them.
Today was no exception. After trying on literally 20+ pairs of shoes, and a few rough moments, we found "the pair." My son settled on a great pair of blue and silver Merrells and even picked up a funky pair of Kenneth Coles too.
The most insane part of this story is that my six-year-old son is now wearing a size 3 1/2 shoe. I can comfortably wear a boy's size 4. I tried on his shoes and they actually fit. I wouldn't want to wear them for an extended period of time, but they would work in a pinch. Crazy.
My boy is getting big.
