Number Three

My boy has had an incredibly loose tooth for over a month. He has been very wary about pulling it because of what happened the last time. I will admit that he probably had cause to be nervous.

When he first realized that his tooth was loose, the boy proclaimed, "Dad is NOT going to pull this one. Mom is!" I felt so honored.

Fast forward a few weeks... The tooth has been veering off to one side making my son look strangely like Mater from the Disney movie Cars. Under close examination, I realized that the tooth was barely attached at the front... in fact, I could actually see inside his baby tooth. The boy's breath had even begun to stink. I'm sure as a result of food getting caught behind the loose tooth. Gross!

This afternoon, I decided to see if I could persuade my son to let me pull the tooth. He would hear none of it. Stubborn boy. (I'm sure he gets that from his father.) I decided to let the subject drop.

A little time passed and the boy, who had forgotten about his tooth, decided that he was going to wrestle with me. Contrary to what he may think, I am still stronger than he is. I spent most of the time tickling him until he screamed for mercy. Life is good!

As luck would have it, during all the ruckus, the boy managed to knock his own tooth out. Problem solved. Now all that's left to do is wait for the Tooth Fairy. I sure hope she remembers where we live.
