My boy has been home from school all week with some type of virus. It started on Sunday night when he spiked a fever out of the blue. Other than the occasional cough, he really hasn't had any other symptoms.
There have been isolated moments over the past few days when I thought the boy was on the mend. Unfortunately they were short lived. For some reason the fever keeps hanging around. Poor little guy.
My boy rarely misses school and was dreading being so far behind. His teacher was kind enough to compile his missed work and leave it in the school office. I went and picked it up yesterday.
To make matters worse, the hubby walked through the door at around 5:00 last night looking a little pale. He literally staggered into our bedroom and collapsed on the bed. Apparently he had been in a meeting when he began to feel sick. By the time he got home, the man had a fever of 102.7.
I spent the majority of the evening taking care of my two sick guys. Bowls of chicken soup, glasses of orange juice and lots of medication were in order. Both boys were in bed by 8:00.
Then it happened...
Around 9:30 last night, my throat began to feel scratchy. My ears hurt when I swallowed. My paranoia kicked in and I was sure that strep throat had finally overtaken me. Thankfully, my fears were squashed by a negative strep test this morning.
Apparently, I just have a bad cold. Lucky me.
I am going to spend the day lying around with my guys. We will probably watch entirely too much television and then take a nice long nap. I'm already looking forward to the nap.

Sorry you're all ailing :( But I'm glad to hear you've been downgraded to just a cold - much better than another round of strep. Wish I were near enough to bring you some love.
To borrow a well known phrase and put a strange twist on it...the family that gets sick together, gets sick together. :~(
Hope you all get well a.s.a.p.
Praying you all get better soon!! Take care!!
