Well, the mama bird is still happily sitting on top of her nest. Thankfully she doesn't seem too bothered by the comings and goings of the Beast and the boy. Any time the back door is opened, she flies to the nearest branch on one of our ancient maple trees and keeps watch.
Over the past several days, the little mama has barely left the nest. The boys and felt certain that she had laid an egg or two, but we weren't sure. I decided to sneak a peek yesterday.
To my delight, I found three tiny blue eggs in the nest. According to the hubby, and a little Google search, the eggs should hatch 10-12 days after being laid. That means that we could have baby birds within the week.
I can't wait.
