While I am happy with the end result, I did not enjoy the work.
The weather is unseasonably warm here in Tennessee, making the task even more unpleasant. Mercifully, the large maple trees in my backyard provided enough shade that I was able to complete the job without sustaining a massive sunburn. Now there is something to celebrate.
The next task... to finish pouring massive amounts of toxic chemicals in my beds to kill off the remaining weeds. Once their death is certain, I will then bury their shriveled remains with a dense pile of pine straw.
The end of my yard work nightmare is in sight.
As a side note, I had the joy of pulling a tick off of my inner thigh... a stowaway from one of my overgrown shrubs. Eeeww! This is yet another benefit of all of this yard work. It just keeps getting better.
I cannot begin to tell you how happy I was that the tick decided to embed it's tiny head in such an easy-to-reach place. How thoughtful of the little parasite.
I'm sure my dear neighbor will be equally as delighted. The hubby won't be home for hours and had the creature been lodged in an inopportune location, I would have been forced to beg her to remove it in his stead.
There are just some things you should never have to ask a friend to do.

I would not hesitate to yank a tick from your body. That's what a good friend I am. But hey, I don't really need to prove myself - you've thrown up in my car twice and I continue to drive you around. What more proof do you need?
Though I've had plenty of experience pulling ticks off people and dogs, I'm glad you have Heather to help you with the tick if you ever need help, LOL! Yes, we have the ticks in our yard too...tis the season, I guess. Do you want to come to my house and trim bushes? You do it so well, :0)
