Excerpts From the Ha Family Dictionary, No. 1

 photo dictionary-1.jpg
Today I would like to share another excerpt from the Ha Family Dictionary.  This one is courtesy of my boy.  Enjoy!

Here at the Ha house, we speak our own language. Over the years we have created a plethora of crazy words and phrases that we us to describe everyday things. I thought I would share some of them with you.

My boy had always been a big fan of smoothies. His favorite... a blend of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, a little banana, honey, soy milk and a splash of vanilla. It is a frequent breakfast request.

Smoothlie

smooth-lie [smoo th lee]

noun, informal

A thick beverage of fruit
pureed in a blender with
ice and milk, yogurt or
juice; a smoothie.

When he was a little guy, the boy got confused and started saying "smoothlie" instead of "smoothie." He used the term for so long that it stuck.

I am embarrassed to say that I have actually tried to order a "smoothlie" at Smoothie King. For the record, I was openly mocked.
