1) Three of my friends have delivered babies this month (two boys and one girl). A fourth is due today and she is desperately willing the little fellow to make his exit. Now. As a result of all this procreation, I have been making stacks of these.
I love tiny clothes and the snugly little creatures that wear them.
2) The hubby and I attended the boy's 3rd Grade play on Thursday night. The program, which was called "Pirates! The Musical," was chocked full of more "Shiver me timbers", "Ye walk the planks" and "Blimeys" than all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies combined.
For his roll as one of the prisoners held captive on the pirate ship, the boy needed a beard. His teacher, Dr. M., took the liberty of painting the beard himself, carefully matching the whiskers to the boy's fiery red hair. The result was quite convincing.
The boy informed us that this was just a dress rehearsal for when he grows a giant orange Afro and a matching ZZ Top beard. I can hardly wait.
3) I have a confession to make. I like to watch American Idol. Don't judge me.
As a longtime fan of the show, I have to tell you that I am really enjoying Ellen DeGeneres in her new roll as one of the judges. I love her witty sense of humor and the direct, yet kind way she delivers her opinion. It is a pleasant change from her predecessor's incoherent ramblings.
4) The season of Lent begins on Wednesday. While my family never observed Lent when I was growing up, the hubby and I have chosen to adhere to the practice. From Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday, I will be giving up sugar and eating out for lunch.
That leaves just two more days for me to consume as much sugar as possible. I have to run. I think I saw a piece of chocolate laying on the kitchen counter.

When we saw the boy's beard at the play, we remarked on how realistic the color was with his hair! It was awesome! :)
