Traveling

The fellows and I have been on a fun little excursion for Spring Break. I will be posting loads of pictures over the next few days. I know you can't wait.

As the boy has grown older, the hubby and I have enjoyed taking him on various trips across the country. Seeing the sites through his eyes fills me with pure joy. On top of that, the boy is a delightful traveling companion... even if he tends to over-pack.

No matter what our destination, or how long the trip, my boy packs like he is going on a world tour and won't be home for months. His suitcase is filled with clothing that is appropriate for a variety of seasons because, "You just never know what you might need." He also makes sure to throw in a few sentimental items from home, for comfort's sake.

In contrast, the hubby packs like he is headed out on the S. S. Minnow for a three hour tour. A three hour tour. He uses one, insanely small carry-on which is packed with the bare essentials. No more, no less.

I fall somewhere in between. Oh, that my boys would know the joy of moderation.

One thing that we do to make our journeys as smooth as possible is that we always carry our bags onto the plane. Always. That way we don't have to worry about lost luggage and we can just zip out of the airport upon arrival. I can't imagine traveling any other way.

I'm off now, but don't forget to come back tomorrow to see where we went on our vacation.

Can't wait to see where you went. We are planning a national park trip that I'm very excited about. There could be a tent. I'm not excited about that.

I pack like Mr. Ha. One bag. My little dude packs all kinds of necessities like a jump rope with a broken handle, some fast food toys, a pretty rock, etc. No underwear or socks or toothbrush.

Have fun! Can't wait to hear all about it!
And I seem to pack like your son...I have been in situation where I needed ALL sorts of types of clothes...so, I always pack MORE than I need. Lol! :)

Intriguing!

I believe I am a reasonable packer. I have children who are like your son, though. Never know when suddenly NEED that random object you haven't looked at or used in several months.
