There is one sure sign that I've been away from the blog for too long... The hubby has been gently suggesting, "I think you are about due for another blog post." To be honest, I think the man is right.

I wish I could tell you that I had a good excuse for my absence. The truth is that I have been on a bit of a computer break. It has been lovely.

The boy and I have been thoroughly enjoying summer vacation. Leisurely mornings give way to laid back afternoons spent with friends, riding bikes or going to the pool. I could stay in this season forever... if it wasn't so stinkin' hot and if the bugs that continue to bite me would disappear.
I'm talking to you mosquitoes, ticks and chiggers.

Despite our obvious laziness, we have managed to go on a few outings, one of which was to Jackson Falls. The boy loves spending hours wandering up and down the stream in search of wildlife. He is a nature-lover at heart.

We decided to take Brick along on our adventure. The beast, who usually hates water, spent the majority of the time wading in the river with his boy. It was amusing to watch our lazy dog navigate the rocky riverbed.

After the dog became sufficiently exhausted, he decided to lay down in a nice cool spot, ensuring that a steady stream of water would cool his overheated belly. If there's one thing Brick hates more than getting wet, it's being hot.

The dog was so exhausted from all the exercise that he slept for two days straight. I'm not exaggerating. He gives new meaning to the word "lazy."

For those of you who still care, I give you the Ha family tick count...
the hubby: 2 crawlers
the boy: 3
the mrs. (me): 4
This is one contest that I am sad to be winning. The boy and I have been joking that the only reason the ticks refuse to attach to the hubby is because he must taste rotten.

sounds like the Ha Gang is having a splashing, cool-down, good time.

We need to get together now that we are home!
Our tick count has been high....over 20 ticks since the flood...and still counting...even on our trips...ugh!
