Imagine that you are looking for your HDMI cable. You are going to stream a Netflix movie on your computer but would like to watch it on your freakishly giant television. Instead of asking your gorgeous wife where the HDMI cable is hiding, you say, "Hey, babe? Have you seen the picture cable thingy?"
Unfortunately, your wife doesn't reply. She just looks at you with a blank expression on her face. It's as if she has no clue what you are talking about. After a few moments she replies, "Do you mean the HDMI cable?" The woman is a genius.
In the past, I was able leave you with the assurance that I, Mrs. Ha, was free from these mysterious signs of aging. This time I am not so lucky.
While I rarely make up names for objects the way my hubby does, I frequently refer to things by the completely wrong name. I call the dog by the boy's name. I remind my boy that he needs to wear his bike yogurt (a.k.a. helmet) because I am simultaneously creating a grocery list and worrying about my boy's safety all at the same time.
If the mind truly is the first thing to go, I may be in trouble.

My mom does this sort of thing. She calls J. Crew "J.W. Crew" for example. I am like her more each day, so it won't be long before I'm doing the same thing.
OMW....if this is a sign you are getting old, then I've been old since I had my first baby...my brain has never been the same...I'm ALWAYS calling things the wrong "name" ...it's just now, the kids are old enough to correct me on it...and they love to do so, as, does my husband, so, now I know how often I do this...countless times a day! Maybe I should be glad the kids are at school...and my husband is at work during the day now...so, I can call things what I want and the babies just don't care. :) Lol!
