Change of Plans

There have been some new developments with the saga of my boy's sliced fingers.

As I mentioned previously, the resident we saw at Vanderbilt was concerned that the boy might have severed a tendon in his right ring finger. His supervisor, the attending, who appeared to be far more worried about freeing up a much needed bed, blew off his concerns and urged him to patch the boy up and send us on our way.

When the boy woke this morning, the hubby examined the boy's finger. It was very apparent that something was wrong. Any swelling that might have been present yesterday was gone and the boy was still unable to straighten his finger.

The hubby called our wonderful pediatrician who was happy to see us first thing this morning. After a careful examination we were referred to a hand specialist at the Bone & Joint Clinic. We have an appointment this afternoon.
