Where I Talk About Not Going Fishing and Piles of CDs

As I mentioned in a previous post, the boy has one thing on his mind these days... fishing. Lucky for me, the hubby decided to be merciful and take the boy fishing by himself on Sunday afternoon.

Do you have any idea how happy this made me? I had already been fishing three times this week, which was a little too much for my taste. The things I do for that cute redheaded boy...

Besides, my hand has been feeling a little achy. As thrilled as I am to be wearing a removable brace as opposed to a cast, I am not about to wear it while I'm fishing. Can you imagine the smell?

I also want to make sure that the darn thing heals. As much as I like Dr. W., I would rather not have to go back to see him again. Imagine his delight when I tell him, "I only took the brace off to shower, do a few dishes, and take my boy fishing approximately 4,162 times, which means that I had to cast approximately 83,240 times. Do you think that's why my hand hasn't healed?"

Maybe I should just schedule the surgery now.

I have to admit that I was shocked that the hubby would agree to several hours of hook baiting and fish touching.
He is notorious for hating any activity that would make his hands dirty. It's amazing what a deep love for a son and a good pair of work gloves will do.

The boys ended up having a great time together. They caught several fish, but fortunately for me, they were too small to bring home. Another filleting adventure was safely averted.

How, you might ask, did I spend my Sunday afternoon? I decided to devote my time to the task of digitizing the remainder of our CD library. Do I know how to have fun or what?

We now have over 85 GB of music stored on a hard drive. While the job was quite tedious, it was fun to rediscover music that I haven't listened to in years. I feel like I've taken a musical journey back in time.

If I'm not careful, I may start wearing shirts with shoulder pads and stonewashed jeans with leg warmers.

All those things will be permissable only if you also have big hair. If you don't do the big hair, no shoulder pads, stonewahed jeans or leg warmers for you. Sorry, it's the rule.
